In another climbdown this week it was decided to scrap the part sell-off of the Royal Mail due to "more pressing matters" needing attention. In fact the idea is being dumped so that Brown can avoid another defeat caused by Labour backbench revolts.
At the same time it seems that the ID card fiasco is to be shelved too for similar reasons.
Poor ole Gordo seems to get weaker and weaker by the day !
Labour are the "u"-turn specialists ?

I was speaking with a friend from one of the unions last night and the word on the street is that if you look into union funding of the Labour party ( not done so yet ) it is reducing by the day.
Browns turn around s are all to-do with the lose of the social vote and union funding pressure. But I have thought to myself a turn around is better than none at all ?

Yeah Jason...."It takes a worried man to sing a worried song......" NO...that's not it.....it's more like it takes a worried man to decide what side his bread is buttered on.
Brown knows that the largest percentage of financing for the Labour party STILL comes from the unions and if New-Labour drifts too far away from it's roots he might find that this money-supply will run out. ( The mass of the Labour rebels are on the left of the party and the left of the party is still close to the unions even nowadays - and Brown is well aware of this fact too ).
That is why I have no problems also connecting the Tories with big business as that is where the bulk of their money comes from also.
Neither of these entities are going to kill the golden goose if they can avoid it.
Sorry about all the metaphores but I think that metaphores often say exactly what we are trying to say in a very few words.
