Sports Direct boss FINGERPRINTS his staff !

Post by papa_umau on Tue 01 Sep 2009, 10:07 am

Sports Direct boss, ( maverick owner of Newcastle United ), Mike Ashley, seems to think that it is OK to fingerprint all of his staff because a new computer system tells him it is alright to do such a thing. The staff at this company were shocked when they were told that they would all need to be fingerprinted so that they could be checked when they clocked in and out.

SNP MSP, Jamie Hepburn said: "Workers were being made to feel like criminals" He added: "There is never any excuse for an employer to feel it is right to take the fingerprints of their workforce! If somone is a crime suspect then it is the police's job to take their fingerprints. I don't think that it is ever acceptable for an employer to force people to get their prints taken. It is like something from a police state!"

I agree. This is getting far too close to some form of "big brother is watching us" for my liking !

What do you folks think ?

This is outrageous. He shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

I am sure that if the workers of that firm stood against this idea that it could not be upheld as it could easily be seen as an attack on their civil liberties.

I think I would be tempted to down tools in protest. I woould certainly choose not to buy sports gear from his shops as I would be contributing to his tyranny and bullying of his staff

OK friends, there we have it...ANOTHER boycott of a company that is overusing it's power.

As Wolfie Smith would say...."Power to the people....power to the people right now !" ( Or is that the words of a song ? Shocked ).
