New banking deal with Liechtenstein ?????

Post by papa_umau on Fri 14 Aug 2009, 12:53 pm

I was totally confused when I read today that the British government are to do a deal with the Principality of Liechtenstein whereby British taxpayers will no longer be able to hide their money from the taxman in that small country.

Pull the other one I say !

Most of us know that rich Brits that do not want to pay their share of the tax burden salt their wealth away in tax havens all around the world including in Swiss numbered accounts and in islands off the coast of Britain like Isle of Man and the Channel Islands and in many other places that are VERY willing to take the cash without asking any questions.

If Liechtenstein is to no longer be one of these these places it will be easy for these tax avoiders, ( some would say tax EVADERS ), to shift their ill-gotten gains to other hiding places.

What is needed is for the people who are supposed to pay tax in Britain to be forced to hand over all their cash for taxation purposes or if they don't they should lose their British citizenship status and be booted out of the country.

    What do YOU think ?

Who do they think they are kidding ?

This is paying lip-service and nothing more to the cause of bringing transparency to the people that hide their money away from the taxman.

It is these people that grease the wheels of industry and politics and it is therefore these people that control the power behind the national governments that make decisions like these.
