What would you like to see for the future ?

Post by papa_umau on Mon 08 Jun 2009, 2:00 pm

    Hi guys n' gals.....

I have three main things I would like to see happening in the future:

1). A real cure for all cancers as it seems that the millions of pounds of cancer-research that is spent each year always seems to just fiddle with the edges . Sometimes it seems that the chemical companies don't want to find a cure, ( the magic bullet ), as if they did they would lose billions of pounds in treatment drugs sales. ( Or maybe I am just being an old cynic here ? ).

2). I would like to see a true form of some kind of electric/magnetic antigravity drive whereby cars and trains and even planes wouldn't have to use dirty internal combustion engines to get moving.

3). I would like to see the hydrogen revolution started in earnest as once we have gotten used to propelling our vehicles by hydrogen gas ,( used in fuel-cells to generate electricity with absolutely no pollution ), we would not need to worry so much about CO2 polluting the atmosphere any more or contributing to climate change.

There you go now...that is my three main wishes for the future:

Now you can write about yours or rip mine apart if you wish !

Your lack of creative processes are showing again Red !

Have you NEVER wondered what is waiting for us in the future or are you just stuck in the present with no needs or desires or thoughts of what might come about in your lifetime ?

Either that or you just don't give a toss !

The latter, I suspect, is the case.

Yes I AM a science-fiction fan but anyone who reads science fiction will know that many things that are discussed in SF one day actually come about a few days, weeks, months or years later.

Are you just another visonless hack or do you on the very odd occasion have an original thought ?

Yes i wonder and i read books and science fiction. Not impressed by the human race though - I dream of world peace, full employment, an end to poverty and famine.

My problem is I know the laws of physics too well as to have such unrealistic dreams.

As Albert Einstein proved....it is a dangerous thing to get complacent with the "laws of physics" as we know them today.

Like any other branches of science there are still things that we do not know about that still have to be discovered.

It is not unreasonable to surmise that many things that seem impossible today might become common practice tomorrow.

Don't let the restrictions about what you know about such things today colour your judgement about what might happen in the future as to do that would be a very arrogant thing to do.

I wasn't aware that he invented anything - he maybe explained a little of what atomic scientists do but they did all the legwork.

Sorry but there is a world of difference between reality and Star Trek

    Jeese....this is hard work !

People like Albert Einstein did not actually "invent" much stuff BUT he did discover things about space and time and quantum physics that people like you thought were impossible.

I suggest that many more "things" are STILL to be discovered that might blow our minds once they are put into practice.

To deny the possibility is to be entrenched in your closed-mind philosophy and is not what the future is made of.

If it was left up to people like you we would still be hitting each other over the heads with clubs and scraping our knuckles along the ground.

Interesting theory - because you don't know what is round the corner means there must be something there.

And because I have mirrors (education/experience) and can see round the corner and you can't, I am a caveman.

    Hmmm something wrong here........

NO...it is simply about being closed-minded and without imagination !

I would hate to be a person like that !
