    Up and coming rip-offs

Post by Historian on Sat 23 May 2009, 8:11 pm

How few people have bothered to cost the up and coming racket that is the CO2 tax

At least one brave Aussie is trying

Estimates of $1000 a year for FOUR DECADES scare the shit out of me I don't know about you guys. Time this global warming scam was exposed for what it is - an excuse for the politicians to tax and spend as they see fit for years ahead. Odd thing is the West will somehow have to pay China, India and Africa to ensure their participation! How is that possible? Isn't it their world too? If they don't pay their way we just stop buying from them surely?

Sorry Red, but that did not link to the actual article...can you tell us more please.

I think that what you are saying here is not that it is a good thing for the world to be aware of our carbon output but what it is going to cost for us to do the right thing.

Because of the cost of going green many third world and tiger economies will not be keen on paying the price that is needed to modernise their industry and their power-generation and that is - or will be - one of the greatest problems that will try to stop the aware countries from doing what is needed to save the world.

Greed always dictates what people and corporations and countries do and if they are to become green they are going to have to lay aside all of that phenomenal growth so that they can stand back and actually see what they are doing.

This problem is made worse by conspiracy-theorists who have axes to grind denying that there even is a problem. Before we can really fix what is going wrong we have to recognise it and be prepared to take a few difficult and maybe expensive decisions in order to make it right.
