    Pret allergy death:

Post by papa_umau on Mon 01 Oct 2018, 11:59 am

Pret allergy death: Father had to ring wife to say daughter would die.

A man whose daughter died after eating a Pret A Manger sandwich on a flight has described how he had to ring his wife to say she would die.

Natasha Ednan-Laperouse went into cardiac arrest on a flight to Nice after buying the baguette at Heathrow Airport in 2016.

Her father, Nadim, said her symptoms came on very fast, "like an explosion".

"I called my wife and told her to say goodbye. I knew she was going to die," he said.

Natasha, from Fulham, west London, ate an artichoke, olive and tapenade baguette and became ill after buying it at Terminal 5 early on 17 July 2016.

Get the full an horrible story from the BBC HERE

We seem to hear results of anything like this being said that try to put our minds at rest that "this will never be allowed to happen again", but I always wonder if they learn anything from incidents like this.

    What do you think ?

And now Pret-a-Manger have said that all of their sandwiches will have all of their content printed on the wrapping.

Why they could not do this before this beautiful girl was killed, I don't know.

I agree on that one Zathrus.

I think that they did not put the ingredients on the packaging as it would have been too awkward for them to do it for every different sandwich.

Now they will have to do it, ( as will many other food outlets ), because it will just be too dangerous for them to not do it.

Yes, now there is a precedent we may find that other people with food allergies will look for this information too.

After all, many other foods already have this information printed on packages, bottles and cans.

I think the outcome might be that if Pret are to list ALL of the ingredients in their sandwiches, they are going to have to get simpler in makeup.
