America hits China with the hardest trade tariffs ever.

Post by papa_umau on Tue 18 Sep 2018, 12:06 pm

US imposes new tariffs on $200bn of Chinese goods.

The US is imposing new tariffs on $200bn (150bn) of Chinese goods as it escalates its trade war with Beijing.

These will apply to almost 6,000 items, marking the biggest round of US tariffs so far.

Handbags, rice and textiles will be included, but some items expected to be targeted such as smart watches and high chairs have been excluded.

The Chinese commerce ministry said it had no choice but to retaliate but is yet to detail what action it will take.

The US taxes will take effect from 24 September, starting at 10% and increasing to 25% from the start of next year unless the two countries agree a deal.

It has always been the case internationally that self-protectionism like this is a bad thing to do.

If Trump and his cohorts want to close America down to world trade then they may find that they will lose out in the long run.

Quite simply, "protectionism" just does not work.

Typical Trumpism that will bring a lot of problems and higher prices in America if he gets away with this protectionism nonsense.

I am sure that he was advised not to do this, but he is a world all onto himself.

Trump wants Spain to build a wall across the Sahara desert.

I am beginning to think that this guy is totally off his nut.

He is definitely a psychopath, as he cares for nobody or nothing but himself.

I have no clue why the Americans chose to put this fool into the most powerful and dangerous job in the world.

It wasn't all of the Americans, it was just a majority of them that filled the electoral college votes.

HERE is how this strange electoral system works.

THIS explains how an electoral college win does not actually mean that the popular vote was applied in the case of how a new President and Vice President is elected.
