Flight plight: 1.3 million passenger journeys at least three hours late.

Around 3,500 passengers are delayed flying to or from UK airports every day - Which? calls for airlines to introduce automatic compensation

About 1.3 million passenger journeys were delayed by at least three hours last year, according to Which? analysis of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) data.

We analysed Civil Aviation Authority punctuality data for the year to June 2018 and found the bulk of the delayed flights were with:

    Easyjet (2,618 flights)
    Ryanair (1,868 flights)
    British Airways (1,668 flights)

The three airlines had delay rates close to the industry average of 0.7% of total flights.

But the high volume of passengers they carried still meant that more than 630,000 passenger journeys were severely delayed.

Read the rest of this survey by Which ? HERE

It used to be the buses, then it was the trains, and now it is the commercial flights that are getting under our skin for regular delays.

Maybe if they were forced to pay automatic compensation then they would be much more dependable in the future.

    What say you ?

I agree that if these airlines were forced to pay automatic compensation they would all of a sudden start to be much more punctual.

    Probably true Zathrus.

Anyway, HERE is where you need to go to start a proper compensation claim.

I don't fly often enough to notice things like this, but if I did, I also would want automatic compensation
