    World Cup 2018 rip-off:

Post by papa_umau on Mon 11 Jun 2018, 11:32 am

World Cup 2018 rip-off: football fans are being charged up to 5,600 for tickets that dont even guarantee entry to games.

World Cup tickets are being sold for almost 40 times their face value and football fans who buy them may be denied entry to the games, it has emerged.

Secondary ticketing sites are charging fans as much as 5,618.80 each to attend a single game at the World Cup, which kicks off in Russia in June, research from a consumer watchdog, Which?, has found.

Ticket to misery. Five secondary ticketing websites were found to be listing World Cup 2018 tickets for sale in the UK, despite Fifa stating that tickets for all the matches should be sold to fans directly and exclusively via its own website, Which? said.

    Read on from iNews HERE

I suppose I am not surprised that the secondary ticket-selling sellers are doing this as this has to be the most lucrative types of tickets anywhere in the world.

HERE is the link to the FIFA official site for acquiring World-Cup Tickets.

All you football fans: Be warned, they are out to get you !

I guess we could have expected to see something like this working on world cup tickets.

Another opportunity to fleece the ordinary folks.

Sadly true. It seems that whenever an opportunity comes along the fiddlers get working.

It's a battle for care that has been going on for many years.

This ticket con has been going on for far too long and it is long past time that it was stopped by the authorities.

I heard recently that some of the artists that put on these concerts are also trying to protect their fans from the touts.

Ed Sheeran was leading these protections.

Here is a link to show same: http://www.thejournal.ie/ed-sheeran-cancels-tickets-3502023-Jul2017/

    Correct Angie.

Not just Ed Sheeran, but many other concert venues are now being protected from ticket touts and the use of bots to buy high numbers of tickets for resale.

This does not mean that we should relax when using secondary ticket sites as they will still fleece you if you let them.

I'm glad the World Cup and Wimbledon are both over. I'm neither a soccer or tennis fan. Rugby, though, I love!
