    Is gadget insurance a rip-off ?

    Is gadget insurance a rip-off?

Once upon a time it was just our wallets and keys that we needed when we left the house, today there's a good chance you've got a pricey smartphone in your pocket and a tablet or laptop in your bag.

Research from insurance company Esure even went as far as to suggest that the typical commuter carries more than 4,000 worth of gadgets in their bag made up of Blackberries, iphones, laptops, e-readers, ipads and other tablets.

This puts us all at an increased risk of theft, so what's the best way to insure your gadgets?

Find out all about this from Moneywise HERE

This subject makes me think long and hard about laying out the money required to insure all of these articles away from home.

Sometimes insurance can be a proverbial pain when the insurance company starts to think about the may ways that they will not pay out on insurances like these.

This is something that we have to consider carefully if we want to get value for money.

I have considered it carefully and I have decided not to take out any insurance on my mobile phone or my laptop as I take good care of them when I am out and about.

If some scroat grapped either my phone or my laptop bag I could pretty easily catch him or her as I am a very fast and good long distance runner where he/she might not be.

When I caught him or her I am then not too sure what I would do then other than applying one to his testicles or her nose.

Done boxing and running training for many years and I am fit enough to catch any thief, while I would be sorry for anybody who could not.

You are lucky that you are so fit and able to take care of yourself, but most people are not, especially the elderly people that these crooks prefer to steal from.
