Tuition fees: Theresa May challenges over-priced universities.

Post by papa_umau on Mon 19 Feb 2018, 11:44 am

The prime minister is to call for better value for students in England, admitting they face "one of the most expensive systems of university tuition in the world".

Theresa May will announce an independent review of fees and student finance on Monday.

She will also argue for an end to "outdated attitudes" that favour university over technical education.

Labour says it would abolish fees and bring back maintenance grants.

I notice that she is not even mentioning the idea that students fees should be scrapped - as in Scotland - as she has never even considered this option.

She has considered it and dismissed it in the same thought, as it costs too much to give tuition-fee-free to English universities.

In fact, what she is doing here is to blame everybody but herself for the high cost of further education.

While there is a Tory government in charge of anything the taxpayers money will go in directions that are not fair or reasonable.

There is only one way to change that: Get rid of them, and bring back a government closer to the people.

Although Jeremy Corbyn is far to the left wing, I am beginning to feel as if I could trust him to form a more inclusive government.

We REALLY need to give him a chance to prove his worth.

There are a few years yet before we might get the chance to change the government.

Before that happens we will have to see if we can get out of Europe in the best way possible.

Yes Angie, we are going to have to wait a few years before we get the chance to do that.

The 5th May 2022 is the date for the next general election, and that is a long way off yet.
