Renault opens its first electric-vehicle-only showroom, in Sweden.

How to sell electric cars in these early years poses a quandry for all automakers.

Tesla chose to avoid existing franchised dealerships and set up its own "stores," where shoppers can learn about plug-in electric vehicles, and their advantages, and have questions answered by Tesla representatives. Buyers then order online.

Other makers have had less success with dropping an electric car or two into dealerships accustomed to gasoline vehicles.

Today, Renault will open its first electric-car-only showroom to display its growing lineup of battery-electric vehicles, separate from dealers and displays with gasoline and diesel cars.

The "Renault Electric Vehicle Experience Center" will open in Stockholm, in one of the Swedish capital's largest shopping centers, known as Taby Centrum.

As electric cars become more attractive to the motoring public, maybe we will see more dedicated electric car showrooms opening in more "enlightened" countries after this ?

The Scandinavian countries always give the best lead in how to go in this modern world.

We need to take a few leaves our of their book.

    Yes, we certainly do Zathrus.

Once the high cost of EVs comes down and the battery range gets markedly better we are going to see many more electric and plug-in Hybrid vehicles appearing on our roads.

It is the future and is the only way to clean up our air that we can help with.

I cannot afford an ordinary "banger" never mind an electric car.

Anyway, I presently live in a flat so if I could afford to buy an electric car where would I put my home charger ?

And another thing: Where are all of the second hand electric vehicles, as I never see them being advertised in the media ?

I was looking at the new 2018 model of the Nissan leaf, as I will be changing my car in 2019 and I saw that the lithium-ion battery will be rated at 60kwh by then, ( not much bigger but much denser ), and that should give me double the mileage on any charge I put into my 30kwh Leaf just now.

    Cannot wait until 2019.
