    Yes, if you are a parent it is often difficult to get picky kids to eat what is good for them; especially vegetables.

    Being a teacher and supervising school meals now and again I find it strange that some foods that the kids would not normally put in their mouths is gobbled up during school meals.

    I don't mean sandwiches carried from home either.

    Yes, in the main, children will eat what the rest are eating.

    Agreed, but I never allowed my kids the option of being fussy eaters. As a widow, I couldn't afford for them to be picky. If they didn't eat a meal, they went without. I knew if they were really hungry they would eat.
    I think it comes down to me being brought up during rationing.

    That technique might sound cruel, but I know a t least one mother and grannies that did exactly the same.

    Curiously they were my own mother and grannies.
