A locksmith company to avoid ?

Post by papa_umau on Tue 28 Nov 2017, 11:40 am

DO NOT USE Keys4u - total rip off and overcharging

    Business review:

On Saturday 4th of November at approximately 7.30 pm my parents (80 years old) took their dog out for a walk. The door slammed behind them and they did not have keys.
Stranded on the road with no keys, phone, coats they went to a neighbour who took them in and called your company Keys4U to come and help.

Ok this is only one person's story, but I think it tells us how to avoid being ripped off for the prices of such services.

HERE is only one of many such trades comparison sites in Google.

    Well, that's one person's view I suppose.

Most of us that need a locksmith will probably have a local one that is known for their quality of service by word of mouth, and if that is the case, we would not need to go to any of the biggies that advertise on the 'net.

I have to agree with you again there Zathrus, as trades required are best chosen from the local offerings that others can recommend or reject.

The Yellow Pages or Thompson's local directory would help here.

Otherwise, many people do not know that they can find phone numbers for free from BT's The Phone Book HERE

    Thanks for the advice Papa.

I think the problem here is that the internet is just to convenient for people.

Even although I too am a surfer I think your idea is a good one.

The internet companies come with artificial recommendations so we should never take them at face value.

Even Yellow Pages cannot always guarantee you will not be ripped off if you don't know where your local locksmith is.

20+ years ago I was charged 300 to be let in to my own house! I had to use Yellow Pages and they just called a 'group' number of linked operators who had a joint advert in YP.

Yellow Pages is soon going to be going online only, BTW.

I love the old paper ones, but they were shrinking and the type was getting so small I almost need a microscope!
