    Plane builders ripped off again.

BAE Systems ‘is cutting over 1,000 UK jobs’

Brexit is not believed to be a factor in the move, Sky News reported, citing sources close to the company

According to Sky News, the country’s biggest manufacturer of arms will slash the bulk of the jobs at its Warton plant in Preston, Lancashire, while workforces at other locations will be trimmed too.

Sky reported that the cuts are understood to relate largely to the sluggish pace of production of the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter aircraft, and uncertainty around the timing of a potentially large order from Saudi Arabia.

Read the full story from The Independent HERE

BAE Systems is one of Britain's biggest arms makers and dealers and if it shrinks too far we will have to import many arms instead of exporting them.

This military plane-maker needs to be protected from the vagaries of "the markets" so that we can still make our own fighter aircraft.

HERE is a cursory look at what BAE Systems do in Britain and the world.

The latest news is that it is now 2000 jobs that are to be lost.

You know of course what is going to happen now !

After these people have been lost and BAE systems need to be able to handle big orders again, there is just not going to be the staff required to organise the expansion needed.

How bloody typical is that of these useless Tories.

Thanks for the update Zathrus. It was originally said that only a thousand jobs would be lost, but this is worse.

I get irritated by such companies laying off skilled workers when their order-books start to get thin. How short-sighted is that then.
