It's not just BT that are trying it on, as all of the other broadband providers are doing it to some greater or lesser extent.

They continue to use the "up-to" ?speeds when they are trying to sell you their broadband.

This get-out clause should be stopped immediately.

    Yes, it should be Zathrus.

The way that they could get round this common complaint is by telling the people who are looking for faster broadband the fact that they HAVE a fibre-cabinet close to their homes.

It is with fibre connections that speeds climb up into double figures.

Coincidentally I recently checked for just that information and found that my broadband supplier did not have access to a fibre cabinet near to where I live.

They did promise that a fibre cabinet would be installed very soon and that they would tell me when it was available for the upgrade.

If the carbon-fibre cable has not been run to the cabinet close to you, you will not be able to get high-speed broadband from ANY of the providers, as they all connect to the same local fibre cable.

Britain is well behind many of the other modern countries for this kind of service but we will just have to wait until they come into the modern day technology.

We are waiting for double figure broadband speeds but the likes of France, in most cities and towns, has treble figures of speeds.

The British government should be ashamed of itself for this awful record.
