The three major concerns about the Brexit talks.

Post by papa_umau on Thu 03 Aug 2017, 12:06 pm

The Three key concerns about Brexit talks by Laura Kuenssberg of the BBC.

David Davis will go back to Brussels on Thursday for the conclusion of the second round of official Brexit talks.

At his first photocall he set himself up for a bit of gentle mockery, being photographed without his notes, compared to the fat packets of EU documents on the table.

Jokes aside, if you talk to him or his team they say they are making good progress, that the negotiations are now properly under way, he is totally on top of his brief - move on, nothing to see here.

Last week he did also hint at a note of compromise in the air, outlining potential fixes on the prime minister's apparent red line (getting a bit pink these days?) on European judges, holding out the possibility of creating some kind of looser membership of the EU nuclear agency, Euratom, by "association".

Read all of Laura's report on the subject HERE

As I see it the politicos that are doing the discussions are holding almost all of their machinations very close to their chests, and it is going to take some time to really find out what they are doing in our name.

Do you really want to know more about the details of how Brexit is going to effect us ?

Laura Kuenssberg  is a smart cookie and if anybody knows what are the pitfalls of the referendum she will.

I agree, but the trouble with believing what journalists report is always going to be second hand.

I have found that the best first hand news on anything comes from Reuters.

After all that is where most of the newspapers get their news from.

I like Laura Kuenssberg  too and I think she is just about the most accurate political journalist of them all.

Also, if the newspapers get their news from Reuters, I have to ask, where do Reuters get their news from ?

That is a great question Angie.

Reuters, who are the largest news-gathering entity in the world, get their news from the many automated engines that examine the world of news. After something has been flagged up the Reuters journalists check the news for accuracy and then they re-issue it.

HERE is a better and more concise explanation of how Reuters does it.
