    More government hypocrisy.

Petrol-diesel car ban rip-off: Government plan dismissed as 'smokescreen' after key air pollution policies dumped.

Green groups and opposition politicians unite in criticism of suggested hypocrisy..

Ministers accused of condemning people to living with killer air for years to come.

Green groups and opposition politicians united in criticism after it emerged that key policies to cut the estimated 40,000 premature deaths from toxic air every year had been dumped.

A plan for a Government-led “scrappage scheme” – to get diesel cars off Britain’s roads quickly – has been rejected as poor value for money, it emerged.

The governments do this to try to make us think they are "green" and that they have the interest to try to cut down on vehicle pollution, but here we see that this is not the case and that, as usual, they don't give a damn about children walking to school at street-level while their lungs get tainted by pollution from vehicles passing by.

This was reported on the news last night.

The government said that by 2040 there would be no new petrol or diesel cars being sold in Britain.

Why we have to wait twenty-three years for this to happen I don't know.

One thing is sure, and that is that it will not be a Tory government that will have to introduce this.

Also, what about the petrol and diesel lorries, buses, and trains. ?

Yes, as has been discussed elsewhere on this subject, there is no doubt that the government of the day are just trying to look green by this move well into the years that they will no longer be in power.

It is much easier to make such promises when the government in charge, when these promises are made, know that they will never have to fulfill pledges like this.

The Tories have never been a "green" party and I cannot ever see them becoming one.
