    The repeal bill facing challenges.

Post by papa_umau on Fri 14 Jul 2017, 11:18 am

The Scottish and Welsh governments have threatened to block the key Brexit bill which will convert all existing EU laws into UK law.

The repeal bill, published earlier, is also facing opposition from Labour and other parties in the Commons.
Ministers are "optimistic" about getting it through and have promised an "ongoing intense dialogue" with the devolved administrations.

No 10 said it had to be passed or "there will be no laws" after Brexit.

Read the whole story from The BBC HERE

This is a massive undertaking which should be discussed at full parliaments at every stage as if it is not we may find that we will have many EU laws foisted upon us by a power-mad MP and her cronies.

Theresa May would love to be able to just push this bill through without argument, but she is not going to be allowed to do this.

The road-block details in this bill are going to be so difficult to get past in open parliament that it may take years just to sort this one subject out.

The EU Brexit Minister has already been making overtures about the amount of money it is going to cost us to get out of Europe. It could cost us many billions of pounds of taxpayers money to get out.

If by the time that this is finished and it has not brought the Troy government down, I will be very surprised.

Well said Angie, as we should all know by now that Theresa May is a control-freak that likes to have her notions accepted by all.

This changeover from European control is not only going to VERY expensive for Britain, but it is going to be very complicated as each of the European laws that we are now tied to are converted to British law.

After this has been completed then we are going to have the open market to worry about, and the Shengen freedoms across Europe's borders, and the free movement of workers to and from the European countries.

In fact it is such a complicated process that it could take many years to sort out.

Please find the key issues from The BBC HERE that will need to be seriously considered long before we are totally free of Europe.

Not sure what to say on this. We will need to do something before Brexit or we will end up with a bunch of unenforceable laws, but i can't help thinking that her rigid stance will make things difficult for all parties to work together on this, which would seem to be the ideal.

Yes, I think that "she", ( Theresa May ) likes to have all of the control, but if she tries to push through a hard Brexit, ( which would be the easiest way to do it ), it could be the killing of her career as a Tory leader and as a Prime Minister.
