Snooping requests go very wrong as police make grave mistakes.

Post by papa_umau on Tue 04 Jul 2017, 11:50 am

Innocent people were wrongly investigated as suspected paedophiles, including one who was arrested, because of snooping blunders by police and internet companies.

Five people had their homes searched and computers seized last year after errors in requests for email and phone records meant they were wrongly targeted, a watchdog has revealed.

Sir Anthony May, the Interception of Communications Commissioner, said the impact of such mistakes could be “devastating”.

I have reported these types of  serious mistakes before on ROB, but here we see it happening all over again.

The truth is Zathrus that even although Big Brother is "working", that does not mean that it is working "well".

HERE is another article from The Telegraph that tells us about the number of times that the police and the internet service operators are allowed to have access to our privacy.

It is these abuses of power that are driving many people to the Dark-Web.

For you're information, HERE is a Wikipedia article on the Dark-Web

I have mixed feelings about this as while such observation does provide intelligence to the police about criminal activities, it also has the downside of snooping on us all.

That link about the Dark-Web was interesting too as I had often wondered about that.

Keep "wondering" Angie, as I have had a good look around the Dark Web, for my own information, and I have found it to be a very distasteful place.
