    Boris Johnson weighs in.

Post by papa_umau on Mon 03 Jul 2017, 11:15 am

Hammond’s public sector pay challenge as another heavyweight weighs in.

Boris Johnson joins calls to end public sector pay cap.

Boris Johnson has become the latest senior cabinet minister to put pressure on the chancellor and the PM to end the public sector pay cap.

Sources close to the foreign secretary made it clear that he wants better pay for public service workers.

He joins those, including Michael Gove, who have suggested the government's 1% pay cap should be lifted.

It is now four years since the public sector have had a rise above one percent and with nurses, firefighters and other civil servants now starting to feel the pinch it IS time that these pay-rises were made to follow the average instead of being stuck at 1%.

With this pressure piling on to the treasury and the PM, I cannot see them ignoring the calls from the rebel Tories or the street protests for this change any longer.

Yes, our Boris is starting to look more and more like a potential next PM.

Once Theresa May is of no further use to the Tories, they will get rid of her and start looking for a new leader.

She is fine in the post just now as she can be made to take the blame in what might go wrong with Brexit, but once Brexit is settled she will be ousted as fast as her Tory "friends" can get rid of her.

They did it with Thatcher and they can do it with May.
