Want a simple and cheap mobile phone ?

Post by papa_umau on Mon 05 Jun 2017, 12:09 pm

Want a simple phone? The Doro 6050 comes calling.

The 6050 is one of Doro’s new simple mobile phones for 2017. But just how easy is it to use, and do its features justify its £75 price tag?

The Doro 6050 has a clamshell design. This means it has a lid that you can open and close, to reveal or hide the display. You may have heard similar handsets referred to as ‘flip phones’. If you’re looking for a simple phone with large and well-spaced buttons, this design is a good choice – with the keypad on a different surface than the display, there’s a bit more space for the buttons.

Find out more about this nice little phone from Which ? HERE

    This what it looks like:

I know any of today's youngsters would not be seen dead with a flip-phone, but this one is relatively cheap and works very easily.

In my opinion, very suitable for the elderly section of our society.

That is one bit of cool kit that many will buy to use on pay-as-you-go.

So long as it can take pictures and send texts as well as calls I think it will be worth the price.

I'm looking out for a new Nokia 3310, although I do like flip phones as well.

This is not like the original "flip-phones" as it has almost all of the features of a modern smart-phone without the complexity.

It also has hearing aid compatibility a loud speaker and emergency button as part of the features.

I have researched it and it DOES take and sent pictures and videos as well as SMS texts.

In fact the type 2 version at £75.00 is extremely good value for money.

HERE is a link to the Doro website that show all of the features of this great little phone, which is designed to be used by the elderly.

HERE is another link to an official blog on the Doro 6050 flip-phone

That looks like a great mobile for my old mum. I will tell her about it as she does not have a mobile phone yet.

Yes, I am sure it will be.

One point that must be mentioned is that for some unknown reason this phone will only connect to the 2G network.

Worth asking this question before you or your mum commit to it.
