MPs to reject the changes made to the Brexit bill in the Lords

Post by papa_umau on Mon 13 Mar 2017, 11:40 am

Ministers believe MPs will reject the two changes made to the Brexit bill in the House of Lords when they debate it for the second time later.

Peers want to guarantee the rights of EU citizens in the UK and ensure Parliament has a vote on any deal.

The EU Withdrawal Bill could complete its final stages if both Houses of Parliament agree the text of the bill.

Well folks, here we go with the start of the war that is about to rage in the commons over Brexit.

If the Lords do not change their minds about the details this subject could go back and forth from The Commons to the Lords many times until they get a compromise that Mrs May can go forward with.

Eventually, article 50 WILL be triggered at some time.

The parliament, in the lower house, DID reject the amendments by the Lords, and the Lords just let it go.

More strife in coming weeks I think.

I am sure that now that Theresa May has actually triggered article 50 and has had the Queen's Royal Assent we can now get down to the nitty-gritty.

I just hope that Mrs May is unable to push through her ideas without parliamentary support.
