    The great Tesco rip-off.

Post by papa_umau on Mon 13 Feb 2017, 11:29 am

Misleading Tesco offers are not applied at the till, investigation find.

Two thirds of Tesco stores visited were found to have out-of-date multi-buy offers which were not applied at the checkout, a BBC investigation found.

Tesco has pledged to take immediate action after "Inside Out" discovered that two thirds of stores visited were still advertising offers after they had expired.

They might say that these repeated mistakes were just oversight problems, but even after they quickly fixed these serious flaws in pricing, I still believe that they were deliberate as they were happy to take the flak after the "mistakes" had been discovered.

"Cynical and deliberate fiddling" I call it.

Yes, they have made a total cockup here and they would have continued doing it if they had not been found out.

I would not be one bit surprised if the rest of the supermarkets are doing this too.

    Neither would I Zathrus.

I think that they do things like this because they think we do not notice when they try to bamboozle us with computer jargon.

They are wrong, and we DO notice and eventually they are found out.

I want to see how far this goes as far as punishments are concerned.

I have often wondered about that, and to my own fault I thought it was only for the odd price.

Now that I know it was a regular fraud I hope they get seriously and heavily prosecuted.

Got to agree with you on that Angie.

I can see what you mean when you say that it only happens now and again, but if it does it is simply bad management, and if it happens a lot then it is simply FRAUD.
