    A congratulations to Morrisons.

Post by Admin on Thu 24 Nov 2016, 11:38 am

As the owner, webmaster, and editor of Ripped-Off Britain, I often carry out the duty of "secret shopper" as part of my remit, and although I very seldom find reason to congratulate the big corporate supermarkets, I have a very good review to give the Morrisons supermarket for the food and service my wife and I received yesterday in their cafe.

We had often gone into the café at the Stirling branch of Morrisons and had seen staff passing with fish and chip suppers to the people who had ordered them.

Although Morrisons café have quite a large menu available and I have heard good things about other items on this menu I had not yet tried the fish teas that looked so appetising in the passing.

We ordered two fish teas yesterday and they arrived quite quickly.

After 5pm, the coffees that we ordered came as complimentary extras, which was good to hear.

Firstly, the fish teas: The long, boneless and skinless cod fillets were very fresh and the flesh was pure white with a light and crispy batter that would have given the local chippy a run for it's money. The chips were golden outside and fluffy inside and they came with a choice of either green peas, mushy peas, or beans. We also got bread and butter.

The whole meal was totally delightful.

Secondly, the coffee: My wife and I like Cappucchino so that is what we got out of the machines that were available. These machines were not like any automated coffee machines I had ever seen before as they ground the coffee from fresh beans, as required, percolated the coffee like the Italian espresso machines do, and added the frothy milk one expects with Cappucchino. They also offered around nine different coffee preparations.

We also went up for seconds of this delicious coffee.

NOW... and finally, the value for money part that I always look for:

This meal was delivered for just over ten pounds for both of us and I challenge any other such café to produce such good food for that very reasonable price.

As my wife and I go to the cinema regularly and we usually go for a restaurant meal after going to the movies, this time, instead, we thought that we might like to try the attractive fish teas that we had seen before in the Morrisons café.

We were not disappointed and we can thoroughly recommend this café in the Stirling branch of Morrisons supermarket.

What a coincidence. Today, in my daily newspaper I found an advert specifically targetted at the Morrisons Café meals.

While I would never go against any of your recommendations Papa, I really have to try this café food for myself, if you care to take the time to review it for us.

    Thanks for that.

I have to admit that I have never - until now - used the café in Morrisons supermarket, but if you recommend it Papa, then I certainly will give it a try.

Unlike many other "wimmin" I hate cooking and will do anything to avoid this chore.

Thanks Papa, in your guise as ADMIN.

My pleasure Angie, as I don't get the chance to write as ADMIN very often.

I have not run very far, as far as the internet, is concerned as Lanzarote is only next door via the ether.
