Chinese consumer body urges Apple to investigate random shutdowns of iPhone 6 and 6s

The China Consumers Association has asked Apple to investigate complaints regarding some iPhone 6 and 6s units that are randomly getting switched off despite having plenty of charge left. The company is yet to respond to or acknowledge the issue.

Several users of the iPhone 6 and 6s in China, one of Apple's biggest iPhone markets have complained of switching issues on their phones and users have said that their iPhones automatically got switched off despite having 50-60% battery left. The consumers added that they failed to be able to switch on the device despite continuous battery charging.

I do not have an I-phone, but I was wondering if any British I-phone users have noticed this problem or is it just a Chinese problem ?

That's a rather strange thread-starter for us Brits as I have never heard of this phenomenon occurring in Britain.

    Maybe it is a Chinese/American thing ?

I think you are right Papa that this certainly sounds like a China/America problem.

    Quite interesting though.

I cannot imagine why this should be happening as I am sure that Apple will not want to antagonise their Chinese buyers by  switching off their phones like that.

I CAN see that the Chinese establishment might do this in order to stop Western advertising to get to their people. Then all they need to do is blame Apple.

A cynical idea, I know, but for many years the Chinese have been famed for doing things like that.
