Boris Johnson's offering is "intellectually impossible"

Post by papa_umau on Wed 16 Nov 2016, 11:12 am

Boris Johnson offering 'impossible' Brexit vision

Boris Johnson is offering Britain a vision of life outside the EU that is "intellectually impossible", a leading European finance minister has said.

The foreign secretary reportedly told a Czech paper the UK was likely to leave the EU customs union post-Brexit - but still wanted to trade freely afterwards.

However, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, the Dutch finance minister, said such an option "doesn't exist" and was "impossible".

While few of us will be surprised that Johnson thinks this might be possible, the same idea is what Nicola Sturgeon wants to do with a Scotland before independence.

    Comments anyone ?

I smiled when I read this as only Boris could suggest something like this.

I can see how this type of idea could effect Scotland as I don't think that the EU will tolerate anything like this from a country that still connected to the UK after Brexit.

Another reason to push for second referendum I suppose.

Good thinking Zath' as far as this is concerned you are either in or you are out and I think that out means out as far as the powers that be in the EU are concerned.

Mind you, while you are right that this idea would effect Scotland just as much as the rest of the country after Brexit is finally completed, this IS a very good reason for making a break with Westminster rule and finally getting our independence, as we never at any time voted to withdraw from the EU, and the EU bosses know this only too well.

I really don't understand why such a dunderheaded buffoon managed to get elected as an MP in the first place; He is a joke. He represents the current state of British Politics perfectly. Our politics are a total farce!

At first I thought you were talking about TRUMP. Evil or Very Mad

But BOJO is actually quite a smart cookie who allows his personality to spoil his statesmanlike methods.

He might start by getting a haircut as he would look much more like a statesman if he did that. ( At least, unlike Trump, he does have a decent head of hair ).

"Smart" he might be, but he needs a personality overhaul before he will even start to look like a real statesman.

Although he has been given a post in the Tory cabinet I do think that at times he can be a laughing stock with the ways that he acts.

He is certainly a character, our BOJO, but because a lot of people in and out of politics think that he is just a clown, he is never going to be accepted as a proper statesman.
