    Pauline Cafferkey back in hospital.

Post by papa_umau on Thu 06 Oct 2016, 12:29 pm

Ebola nurse Pauline Cafferkey escorted back to hospital by police

The Scottish children's nurse is undergoing "routine monitoring" and is reported in a stable condition, the hospital says.

Pauline Cafferkey, the nurse who contracted the Ebola virus, has been taken back into hospital.

She was transported in an ambulance with a police escort to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow this morning from her home in Cambuslang.

A statement said she was undergoing routine monitoring by the Infectious Diseases Team at the hospital, and her condition remains stable.

What's going on now with this nurse I wonder ?

Is she sick again, and do the police think that she may still be infectious ?

No doubt we will hear more about this on today's main news.

    Hi all,

Very sad. I feel sorry for the poor girl.

She had the guts to go and help people suffering from that terrible disease ( which a lot of us would not have the bottle to do ), and was then hounded by the Nursing Council who should be ashamed of themselves.

Hope she has not had a relapse and gets well very soon.

You said the words that could have come from my mouth there Technician.

I too hope that Nurse Cafferkey makes a good recovery this time also, but, as was said before, the Ebola Virus has done so much damage to her immune system that we may find that she will just stumble on between infections and infections until she is either properly cured or she dies.

I am not religious, but if I was I would ask their God to look after her in her hour of need.

I too want to wish her the best for her future, as it is about time she had some good luck.

Find the latest news for Nurse Cafferkey from The BBC HERE

I find it curious how, even if she has not been found to be presenting with the Ebola virus she has to stay in hospital for at least another day.

I guess all of us at ROB want to send our best wishes to this brave lady.

It appears that she is suffering from muscle-weakness and that is being dealt with in the hospital.

I think that this brave nurse is going to get problems from the side effects of having Ebola for the rest of her life.

    So sad. Sad

It certainly is "sad" that Pauline Cafferky has had such a bad time since she was brought home with Ebola.

She has been back in hospital four times and she has been attacked for not saying that she had a high temperature before her flight home.

For God's sake, she was desperately ill when she was about to be brought home, and it should not have been her job to tell the authorities that she had a high temperature; it should have been the job of the medicos that were looking after her in Africa.
