French and Saunders 'lined-up to replace Mel and Sue for Great British Bake Off'

They are one of the world's most famous double-acts.

So it's perhaps not surprising that Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders have been tipped to replace Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc on BBC'S Great British Bake-Off.

According to a report in The Sun on Sunday newspaper, the comedy legends are the priority act for Channel 4 bosses, who want a winning duo to launch their new acquisition.

Now I wonder who they are going to get to replace Mary Berry ?

    Any ideas folks ?

Dunno; and not really bothered. I only watch it to see what sort of messes the contestants get into.

While in the hands of the BBC it DID become a national institution and channel four will have a very difficult job to try to recapture that near-perfect format.

I really cannot see why the BBC needed to cause it's demise by being mean with the money as once a good format is achieved, the principle of "if it works don't try to fix it" applies here.
