Do you dread you're tax return form.

Post by papa_umau on Mon 25 Jan 2016, 12:30 pm

A Which? report on the subject

Two in five people who complete a tax return dread it more than going to the dentist, a new poll reveals.

Which? surveyed 500 people who fill in a self-assessment tax return to gauge how much they dreaded it, compared with various chores.

In the poll, 38% said their tax return filled them with more dread than the dentist's chair.

Other tasks that some respondents said they dreaded less than filling in a tax return included unblocking a drain (35%) and cleaning a filthy oven (34%).

For more on this subject from Which? go to their website HERE

Although I nowadays do not need to fill in a tax return any more as my pensions are fixed, I have bad memories about filling in my tax return form so when I read that Which? had produced an advice document on this I was happy to draw your attention to it.

    Best of luck with it.

As a business man I have a tame accountant that does mine even although I do not get that service for free.

When I was running my own business I too had an accountant to do my books, but now that I no longer have that business, like many thousands of others, I think that the day for filling in the tax return is not something that is looked forward to.

One of the big problems for ordinary folks is the complexity of the UK tax systems as without the use of an expert it is easy to miss out on many deductions that only the experts know about.

    Very true mate, very true.

Why taxation in Britain has to be so complicated, I have no clue.
