Can we save pupils from radicalisation ?

Bid To Protect Pupils From 'Twisted Ideologies'

It comes as the PM and education watchdog chief say schools should be free to ban Muslim girls wearing veils during lessons.

A government sponsored website is being launched to give parents and teachers advice on keeping children out the reach of extremists and their "poisonous propaganda".

It is among a series of measures being unveiled by the Government aimed at preventing youngsters "falling under the spell of twisted ideologies", said Education Secretary Nicky Morgan.

This follows a number of high-profile cases where schoolchildren have travelled, or attempted to travel, to Syria.

Found it Paps, and here it is: http://educateagainsthate.com/

I do have concerns about this site if it is a government sponsored one as instead of just informing us and encouraging us to ask questions about these subjects it should be doing much more to actually stop this happening via legislation.

Even although I think that is a bit of a rightist view I have to admit that I would call for those changes too.

    Zathrus....

Thanks for finding that site address mate; I hope that all of the three hubs of, the parents, the teachers and the school leaders, that have been asked to take an interest in it, are actually read by the government too.

HERE it is again in a quick link.

Thanks for the website from me too Zathrus.

Of course, because of my job of educating children, any government-sponsored website like this has to be a good idea.

I feel very strongly about children in Britain being radicalised and conditioned by adults in order to make them into extremists and religious haters.

The thing about this subject is that the education watchdogs should put undercover spies into every madrassa and illegal school in Britain so that this kind of child indoctrination is discovered and stopped at source.

It is OK to talk about this in depth, as that website does, but as I see it, actions speak much louder than words.

Yes Angie, I doubt very much if this kind of indoctrination of children will be found in the mainstream schools.

I guess that is why we as parents and teachers and the government should work as hard as we can to point out and show up these schools.

I think what Technician means is niqab, the full face veil. Burqa is the walking tent with just a mesh panel to look through, and that is something I haven't seen in Britain.

I must admit, I am uneasy talking to someone in niqab, we are so used to assessing a person's honesty of purpose through their facial expression, that I would happily have niqab banned.

I would like to put it even more simply:
