    Electric drag racing.....

Post by papa_umau on Thu 24 Dec 2015, 11:41 am

When I wrote that title, the enormity of what I said hit me hard.

I mean, how can an all electric car beat a monster eight or twelve cylinder dragster, burning nitro ?

    It doesn't seem possible.

Here's a couple of vid's showing just this:

    ONE

    and

    TWO

Sounds ridiculous, but if we think that they now have Formula-E racing cars in regular meetings and even the Formula One cars now all have hybrid engines I think that really fast electric sports cars are not far away.

Now,the Tesla Model S P85D can smoke a Ferrari or Lamborghini off the starting line.

Are you getting one of them Paps ? pirat Smile

HA-HA Zath'. Very Happy no, I am not going to get one of those Tesla model S P85D sports saloons as they cost 56,235 to buy.

I do think that the tech' that Tesla are now showing with their 90kwh battery and their guaranteed 305 miles on one charge WILL eventually bleed over to the other electric cars out there.

At the moment I will be happy with the Nissan Leaf 2016 model with the new 30kwh battery and it's 105 miles range on a single charge.

I plan to buy one later in the new-year.

I must admit that I enjoy Scalextric and I beat my partner at it every time.

I don't know about doing it on the roads. Evil or Very Mad Suspect

I don't think that an electric car is a good vehicle to start driving with as at the outset they are still quite expensive and there are very few of them to be bought second hand.

See the new post from me in this sub-forum entitled "China all electric very soon"
