Man held in VTech hacker probe.

Read more about this from the BBC HERE

Although these kinds of cyber attacks are now becoming common it is more disturbing that these hackers are taking control of electronic machines aimed at children.

I do hope that South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, (Serocu) who discovered this shut down this vulnerability very quickly.

It is beginning to look as if the hackers don't care who they hack these days.

Maybe some really hefty sentences would stop this from happening ?

I don't think this particular "hack" is being made deliberately on children's tech, as the hackers don't seem to care what private stuff they break into.

And yes, I agree that they should start to get heavy sentences for doing this is order to deter others.

In fact, I am terribly surprised that the authorities have NOT hammered these hackers before now as this is happening far too often these days.

They NEED to be deterred from doing what they do.
