    Booze and public transport.....

Post by papa_umau on Tue 10 Nov 2015, 1:19 pm

I am sure that we all have examples of when boozed up travellers cause problems on buses, trains, and planes and mostly it is the sober women that suffer from the boorish behaviour of drunks on public transport.

Maybe it is time that there were more security operatives travelling on these vehicles, especially at night ?

HERE is just such a story from The Daily Mirror online.

What do YOU think should be done to protect the innocent travellers from this kind of behaviour ?

Maybe a breath test before anybody gets onto a late train.

Of course this would be tricky to operate and hard to enforce.

Security, bouncer-type staff on late night trains would help too, but I cannot see the train operators spending the money required to do this.

I found it immensely amusing that the trouble in that carriage stopped as soon as the drunks knew they were in a carriage-full of sober soldiers.

Of course we cannot always expect that either. Evil or Very Mad

As a youngish female I would never consider travelling alone on a train late at night.

Any woman that does is just plain daft.

There is definitely safety in numbers where drink is concerned. Suspect

Trains that hold drunk football supporters or concert supporters always seem to cause trouble.

Strangely, I have found that Rugby supporters at the games or on the trains are not like that most of the time.
