CBI tells Gov "not to overplay their hand".

CBI secretly tells Tory minister not to ‘overplay our hand’ in EU negotiations

Ministers have been warned by Britain’s biggest business lobby group not to ‘overplay our hand’ in Britain's talks about renegotiating its relationship with the European Union.

The minutes – marked ‘confidential’– show that the CBI was ‘stepping up’ its plans to campaign for the UK to stay in the EU and that its former President Sir Mike Rake urged his successor Paul Drechsler to ‘use the CBI's influence to keep us in’.

    Story from The Telegraph HERE

Cameron is in a very difficult situation here as these leaked minutes re-enforce the argument that the CBI DO NOT want the government to pull us out of Europe while his rabid right wingers and EU-haters in government want him to beat UKIP at their game and start the promised referendum ASAP.

Yes, as far as this is concerned I would not like to be Cameron's shoes when we do approach the referendum to pull out.

I honestly think that Cameron will see the needs of the CBI, from which a lot of the Tory money is sourced, as much more important than the needs of his far right rebels.

In fact this subject alone could be Cameron's nemesis in the near future.

I find it actually quite entertaining to think of Cameron wriggling on this particular hook. lol!

As time goes by and we are getting to know more about the EU and the EC I think that when the referendum DOES go out only the rabid right-wing Zenophobes are going to vote for a crude pull out.

More and more effort is going to be put into reforming the archaic laws of the EC and when it has become a more efficient and streamlined central body the whole of the EU will become an entity which will be a great example across the world for a good partnership for all of the present, and soon to be, member states.
