The bitter beast from the East....

Post by papa_umau on Sun 11 Oct 2015, 1:50 pm

Are we ready for the BITTER BEAST FROM THE EAST as the "Indian Summer" finally ends and the winter returns with a vengeance ?

I don't know about you guys n' gals, but I was just getting comfortable with the bit of heat we had finally received and I am not going to take it easily if that is all the Summer we are going to get.

    What say you folks ?

    Update....

Post by papa_umau on Wed 14 Oct 2015, 10:36 am

I guess the "beast from the East" has arrived as the temperatures have dropped suddenly here.

I noticed yesterday that even with the sun shining, if we went into the shadow the temperature dropped like a stone.

My car is garaged overnight, but when I got into it yesterday the outside temperature gauge was showing just one percent; that's four degrees colder than in my refrigerator.

I guess that the mild winters we have been having for a few years now in Scotland are finally gone.

Yep mate, I put my fleece back on for the first time this autumn.

For us outside workers the freezing weather is not only uncomfortable, but it can be quite dangerous when your fingers get frozen while holding a wet squeegee at great heights.

I have to admit that I admire the workers that do it outside, in great danger and in all weathers.

The ones I particularly admire are the high-rise window cleaners and the line-men on the power pylons.
