    A letter from Jeremy Corbyn....

Post by papa_umau on Fri 02 Oct 2015, 12:39 pm

As a lapsed Labour Party member I got a letter today from Jeremy Corbyn asking me to come back to the party membership.

It said that since Labour chose Corbyn as leader more than 17,000 former members have already come back to the party.

While I am impressed by this I think I will just hold on to the application form until I have seen Corbyn working a bit longer.

    Comments anybody ?

That's good sense Papa, as Corbyn could well be just a flash in the pan.

As long as Corbyn has his health and his sea of supporters there is no reason why he should not get what he wants for us out of the Labour party.

Before this new Labour party can expect to get enough voters to get back in power it is going to have to appeal to more people than the leadership vote acquired.

Like it or not, Corby is going to HAVE TO appeal to the centre-ground as well as the left-wings if he wants to make the revolution that he is going for start to work.

Some of his more radical left-wing opinions and actions in the past are now coming back to haunt him.

Cameron has not missed a chance at hitting him with his past.

Yes, we all have to be aware of those points Angie.

It is Corbyn's radical left-wing ideas that may stop him from gathering enough ordinary voters to make the Labour party electable again.

I have not written him off yet as he talks, ( mostly ), about the things that matter to me in particular.

I am hopeful of Corbyn, but he must clear out the New Labour rabble before he convinces me.

I agree, but I don't think he could get away with getting rid of all of the New-Labour hangers on without doing himself a lot of damage as well.

He has a very difficult job ahead for him of pushing left-wing ideals while keeping in with the centre-left members and the general centre-ground amongst the voters.

Maybe, some would say that this task is just too hard for him to do.
