Panasonic asks the Tories not to cut subsidies.

Post by papa_umau on Mon 07 Sep 2015, 12:18 pm

Panasonic criticises 'damaging' cuts to solar panel subsidies.

Electronics giant calls on ministers to think again about impact of reducing funding for homeowners who want to install solar panels.

The Japanese company, which is a major supplier of solar panels in Britain, said it normally tried to avoid intervening in political decisions but could not stand by and watch the industry being attacked.

Amber Rudd, the energy and climate change secretary, said 10 days ago that she would consult on plans to reduce financial support for solar energy installations in a bid to ease the burden on bill payers.

This government came in on a policy of being more "green" but it seems that in it's headlong drive to hammer their austerity policies they are going back on their word.

Typically Tory if you ask me. Suspect

So, what will happen now ?

The rich Tory buddies will still be able to afford to get this stuff installed while the ones that would like it but cannot afford it will just have to do without.

    Me included.

Obviously the complaint that Panasonic have lodged with the government is all about their profits as they don't give a damn where the money comes from so long as it keeps coming.

    True Zath.

I must admit that when such subsidies are removed from green government policies I have to wonder if the Tories are green at all.

You can be sure that they will have many connections to the fossil fuels companies as they are more likely to give money to the Tories than the Green companies will.

    Dead right Angie.

In the Tory austerity programme they are looking for as many ways as they can to keep diminishing the state and any money that comes straight out of the treasury coffers is money that can be taken back.
