    Cadbury at it again !

Post by Nuthin fancy on Wed 22 Jul 2015, 2:52 pm

    Hi All,

Just heard that Cadbury are to reduce the size of the 'Roses Tin' by removing approx 11 sweets ( price will stay the same of course )...When asked about this a spokesman said 'we are constantly listening to our customers to give the very best value'....

Yeah, well, I for one have never touched the product since it was taken over by the Yanks. Nothing against the Yanks, but they do make crap chocolate ( Look at those crappy Hershey Bars !!). Of course its not just Cadbury, Tetley tea have done the same and a load of other companies, ie reduce the size and keep the price the same!!. Simple, boycot them!!!.

By the way if you like the odd bit of choc then I have found the offerings in Lidl and Aldi to be top notch...Try the Aldi Chocolate Eclairs..Brilliant and great price too.

Yes, this is a personal hate of my own.

They have been doing this for years, and Cadbury are not the only companies that do it.

Watching over a while, I have found that they slowly make the packages smaller without changing the price until they eventually make a bigger package, bang up the price, and market these as a bonus buy.

I totally agree that the range of British, German and Belgian chocolates that can be found in Aldi and Lidl blow cadbury's and others right out of the water for taste and VFM.

There is one dark hazelnut chocolate that I particularly like in Aldi, and that is in the Choceur range. They are made especially for Aldi and they are smooth, creamy and delicious - and cheap.

    Great stuff...both.

I must admit that I love a bit of chocolate now and again, and the wife is a pure chocoholic.

So, what this adds up to is that once again the discounters like Aldi and Lidl have beaten the big sellers not only for price, but for quality too.
