What about this one then ?

Post by papa_umau on Tue 14 Jul 2015, 11:55 am

A man has been arrested after using a power socket on a London Overground train to charge his iPhone, in what police said was an incident of "abstracting electricity".

Robin Lee, a 45-year-old artist, says he was handcuffed and taken in a police van to the nearest police station after using the socket on Friday.

Get the whole story from The Telegraph HERE

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that the power points at every set of seats on a train were for connecting one's lap-top or smart-phone to. ( This is usually connected with free Wi-fi on the train )

If this is the case then why is it wrong to charge your phone on the same outlet ?

Surely if this power-point is not for public use there should have been a sign saying so ?

And here we see the police jumping in with their big boots before any explanation can be given.

Am I wrong, but are our police now starting to look like the previously fictional thought police ?

For anybody that doesn't know what that is have a look here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thought_Police

What I wonder about, was, who brought the police in for such a trivial act ?, and why were they needed anyway ?

Surely a telling off by the ticket collector would have been enough.

Again, surely the police's time is more important than that.

One would think so, especially with some of the more spectacular gaffes that the police have made recently; 24 hours for someone to attend an attempted burglary in progress and three days to attend a RTC, to name just two. Mind you, it was probably British Transport Police on the train one.

Yes the Police, especially in Scotland are getting a rough time just now, and most of the trouble is based around the dictatorial stance of Chief Constable Steven House.

He has made more cock-ups recently than any comparable Police Constable.

His worst one was after the Scottish Parliament had ordered him to stop sending armed police into minority situations a couple of armed coppers were found in a supermarket doing their shopping.

Time he resigned, but he is too big-headed to do that.
