The listed candidates for the Labour leadership contest

Post by papa_umau on Wed 27 May 2015, 10:53 am

Please find the list of candidates for the Labour leadership HERE

My personal favourite from amongst the sixteen candidates is Dianne Abbot as she is a true left-winger.

Sadly I do not think she will get enough votes to get into this job.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

I find it interesting that sixteen previous Labour members and shadow ministers are now willing to take up the poisoned chalice that is the leadership.

I also find it interesting that Harriet Harman, ( the present deputy leader ), is not going to be one of them.

Whoever gets that job is going to be caught between a rock and a hard place as I think we are going to find that the party will then split down the middle with anti-New-Labourites and pro-New-Labourites battling it out for the future of the party.

It has been said that the party in the run-up to the election was veering too far to the left and yet many of the true Labour supporters, like myself, feel that it did not go nearly far enough back to the party roots in order to make it once-again a party of the people.

I would not like to be in the shoes of the person that is eventually chosen to lead the party as they are going to have a very difficult job to do to get back the respect, trust and support of the British people.

Whoever gets that job is going to have a hard time getting Labour out of the mess it is in.

Not a job I would like to have.
