Labour could be wiped out in Scotland.

New Ashcroft polls: Labour to be wiped out in Scotland and lose Gordon Brown’s seat

The SNP lead are set to win more than 50 of Scotland’s 59 seats, including Charles Kennedy’s and possibly even Jim Murphy’s.

Or so Lord Ashcroft says in his latest poll.

See the full report from The New Statesman HERE

It seems that in a response to losing the referendum and while watching Labour and the Tories join hands in The Better Together campaign, we are seeing a serious revolution in the way that Scotland votes in any nationwide election.

Just like they did with the Tories, Scotland is now turning on the Labour party up here and this will have a profound effect on who holds the power after the May election.

Many may disagree that his is going to happen, but we will not know for sure until after the real polls close on May 7th.

This was on the TV news yesterday and in the papers too.

It was said that under this poll the political map of Scotland was going to be coloured all red.

It was also stated that if everybody that voted for independence, ( the 45 percent ), voted SNP in the general election that the 55 percent that was left, that voted for the Better Together campaign, would be split amongst three or more parties.

This indicates that Scotland are now prepared to throw Labour out just as they did with the Tories.

I too cannot wait until this election is done and dusted. Suspect

    Me too Angie. Twisted Evil

Just out of interest, because I used to be a card-carrying Labour man, I still get e-mails from the Labour Scottish headquarters.

I got one today and I wrote back telling them that because of what Blair did to this once great party and because of the disgusting cabal that was formed with the Tories and Labour during the Scottish referendum campaign many thousands of ex-Labour people - just like me - are now going to vote SNP at the general election in May.

They are going to learn to fear the 45 percent.

    This might be very true.

Mind you opinion-polls can often be wrong if the wrong people are asked to take part.

Yes, few people know that the people who do the polls, ( if they are in any way connected to a particular party ), make a special point of asking the questions of the demographics that will return them the figures that they were looking for in the first place.

That is why it is always best to try to find completely independent polls if we want to see an accurate result.

Mind you this particular poll was collected by Lord Ashcroft, a Tory member of The House of Lords, who specialises in polling.
