    Another winter attraction scam.

Post by papa_umau on Tue 25 Nov 2014, 1:03 pm

Winter attraction designed by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen shuts after a day

The Magical Journey closes until 26 November after complaints about cheap toys, long queues and disappointed children

This seems to happen just about the same time every year.

All of these outdoors "Santa-land" type shows suffer simply because there is no natural snow and they have been built on the cheap.

I don't know what is in the minds of the parents of those disappointed children when they are ripped-off so royally by such obvious scams.

Sometimes people are such mugs when stuff like this is going about.

Yes, but often the customers don't know how bad it is until after they have paid their admission fee and got in.

Of course it will be difficult to get money back if the operators disagree that it is a poor show or not.

The authorities should inspect these seasonal shows and if they are not value for money they should be shut down.

Bowen has always been a bit of a chancer and this nonsense seems to prove it.

They should always expect bad weather at that time of year; not a valid excuse. They should start building earlier. Too much rush in order to increase the bottom line.

Your'e right about that, but it is always going to be difficult to produce any such "Christmassy" show outdoors if there is no snow.

As you say, it all comes down to the profit motive and little else.
