    From The independent:

Revealed: The best and worst countries in the world to grow old:

Norway is the best, with Britain only scoring eleventh place.

I hope that Cameron and his cronies get to read this report as if they do it could make them ashamed of what they do, or don't do, for us in their names.

    Well spotted Zath'.

I think that many of the elderly British voters already knew this, but it is always good to see it in black and white.

Mind you, one point that we must be aware of is that many of the countries in the top ten of that list are countries of high personal taxation.

What I would hope that might happen is that the next British government might be able to strike a good balance between not-so-high taxation and a definite improvement in the lives of the elderly in Britain.

This will NEVER be the Tories. Of that I am sure.

    That's an interesting survey Zathrus.

It won't be easy, but I am sure that any British government that really wanted to make our country a happy and contented place to retire to would have to try to strike a happy medium with taxation.

Of course this taxation would also have to be fixed as far as those that can afford to pay more do pay more and the ones that cannot, don't.
