The Con-Dems have failed to close the gap.

Post by papa_umau on Fri 08 Aug 2014, 12:58 pm

From Len McCluskey, leader of the Unite union:

    Gender jobs split

It is nothing short of scandalous that a stark gender gap still exists in workplaces across Britain.

No employer would dare to admit to discriminating against women, yet the statistics show this is still happening.

New research from the TUC today reveals that young women are increasingly being condemned to low-paid, low-skilled jobs across the UK.

And the report The Gender Jobs Split reveals how their sex still plays a huge part in determining young peoples careers.

Exam results consistently show young women outperforming their male classmates.

There is no excuse for that success not to be reflected when it comes to the job market.

Yes the Con-Dem coalition have had their chance to right this wrong and they have failed miserably.

Now it is the time for a government that care about this ongoing paradox, to do something about it.

Of course, being a burd, I agree with this.

Lots of previous governments and enlightened companies have promised to bring pay-parity here between men and women doing the same and similar jobs and yet very little movement has been seen in this yet.

So long as this situation exists men and women will never get pay parity as it is the men that have the power and they do not want to hand this power over to us. ( The women ).

Maybe we need an other Emmeline Pankhurst in our midst as it does seem that the few women in power do seem to want to protect what they have rather than risking this power by fighting for the rights of other women.

Right again Angie as this is just another hangup of the Tories, where they are driven by the brainwashing they got in private schools like Eton, that it is MEN that must have and keep the control.
