Middle Classes forced out of private schools.

Post by papa_umau on Sun 06 Jul 2014, 12:35 pm

Middle-classes 'forced out of private schools' as fees soar.

A report by the stockbroker Killik & Co says that private schools are less affordable for accountants and solicitors now than they were for plumbers in the early 90s because of a four-fold rise in fees.

According to a major study, private education is becoming “increasingly unaffordable” for the middle-classes following a four-fold rise in school fees in little over 20 years.

Well, if that does not indicate that the gap between the rich and the poor now includes the professional earners too, then nothing will.

Maybe now that this race to the bottom is gathering pace we may see the middle-classes starting to resist the growth of the gulf that now stands between the super-rich and the rest.

Now wouldn't that be nice ?

It had to happen eventually as the rich get richer and the poorer and the middle classes get poorer.

Maybe the middle classes will have more feelings for the poor now that they are in the same boat ?

One would hope so, but I doubt if even that will turn these people into the protectors of the poor.

Being a state-school teacher I have always felt that the private schools like Eton et-al not only provide excellent education, at a price, but they turn out snobs who find it easy to look down on the plebs, like you and me.

Cameron is a perfect example of what Eton turns out.

Yes my dear, and there are many more ex-Etonians in Cameron's cabinet.

More "jobs for the boys" I think.
