The French know when to strike ?

Post by papa_umau on Thu 26 Jun 2014, 12:12 pm

Here again, this year, we see the French air-traffic controllers going on strike during the holiday season.

Read more on this from The BBC HERE

I know that many such unions have historically taken industrial action at the times when this action will be the most effective, but do we think that this is always justified or should unions be restricted to WHEN they take industrial action ?

Most of the unions of the world try to do it this way, I just think that the French are the best at it.

Sorry for the holiday-makers though ! Suspect

Yes, all kinds of industrial actions are taken when these actions will effect as many people as possible.

This is a risky plan for many unions as eventually the public will turn their attention away from the government and lay it right on the heads of the union officials.

The French have working class solidarity. We British are divided like never before. That's the bottom line.

Thatcher divided us in the 1980's and 90's with her Utility shares, and her council house sells.

More slogans I see Ivanhoe !

I am beginning to think that you have a dozen phrases just like that last one on a saved document somewhere on your computer and all you need to do is pick one of them and copy and paste it.

Doing it this way you will never need to think about what you are saying.

I have to ask: Have you EVER entered into an open and two-way conversation with ANYONE other than just throwing slogans at them ?

I'm just getting to the crux of things Papa. I have a lot of respect for the people of Europe because they at least stand together.

Repeating worn-out sentences and phrases in a dogmatic way is NOT "getting to the crux of the matter", as writing like that about anything either invites attack or kills debate stone dead.

As I said before: "Conversation is a two-way street" and it is not improved by sloganising.

There should be no restrictions on Unions taking industrial action. Workers dont strike for nothing.. Unions should have the support of the people.

Solidarity is everything in European countries. Solidarity does not exist in Britain and that's how Thatcher managed to weaken the Unions, and divide our country in the first place.

That's better. At least there was only a hint at one of your dogmatised slogans there.

Opinions are the life's blood of debate and they are developed by people paying attention to what other people say before replying to them in their own words.

If you wish to stay here, and be accepted by other website forums, all you need to do is to stop being such a dictator and respond to people's opinions with your own opinions.

If we needed a political expert to tell us all about the facts and figures of politics, I would hire one.

Another way to back up one's ideas is to cite the words of some individual or website that we trust with the truth by supplying a link to that person or website.

Also.....That is why most people either end what they are saying with IMHO, ( in my honest opinion ), or JMTPW, ( just my two pennnies-worth ).
