Nick Clegg and a Lab-Dem coalition.

Post by papa_umau on Tue 18 Feb 2014, 12:26 pm

Nick Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrats and The Deputy Prime Minister has publicly said that a coalition with the Labour Party before and at the next general election would be a "possibility".

Read about this quote from the BBC News HERE

This result came after Clegg probably started to wonder if The Tories might not be interested in another coalition with his Lib-Dems next time round.

I do understand where he is coming from here as he knows that the last coalition with The Tories did his party a lot of harm and the only way forward for the Liberal Democrats might be with the Labour party and any Labour government of the future.

Ed Miliband has replied in no uncertain terms that he is not interested in any coalition like that as he will be going for a full Labour win at the election in 2015.

It looks as if the Liberal Democrats are set for a humiliating defeat in that election if they try to, or are forced to, go it alone.

    What say you ?

That would be totally hilarious if it was not so serious.

The idea of the Labour party forming up a coalition with the now defunct Liberal Democrats is a laughable one.

As soon as I read that Clegg had considered a deal like this I realised that he was scraping for partners to try to keep himself in a job of power.

After the next general election Clegg will be lucky if he gets a job as a street sweeper.

Yes Zath, when the Liberal Democrats lose their deposits to the UKIP something has to be seriously wrong.

The idea of the Liberal Democrats joining forces with The Labour Party is simply nonsensical.

It will never happen, especially after they refused to join with the rainbow coalition - including the Labour Party - before the last general election.

Clegg is now a poisoned chalice and everybody, especially him, knows this.
