Have we got our Priorities right ?

Post by Technician on Wed 04 Dec 2013, 9:22 am

    Hi All,

Some intesting facts we should all know; and should make us THINK about our OWN population when we are all told we need to tighten our belts.

Someone please tell me what the Hell is wrong with
all the people that run this country!!!
    LABOUR, CONSERVATIVES & LIBERALS, say
    We're "broke"and can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans,Homeless,etc.,???

In the recent years we have provided direct cash aid to
    Haiti- 1.4 B,
    Hamas- 351 M,
    Pakistan- 2 B,
    Libya-1.45 B,
    Egypt- 397 M,
    Mexico- 622 M,
    Russia- 380 M,
    Jordan- 463 M,
    Kenya- 816 M,
    Sudan- 870 M,
    Nigeria- 456 M,
    Uganda- 451 M,
    Congo- 359 M,
    Ethiopia- 981 M,
    South Africa- 566 M,
    Senegal- 698 M,
    Mozambique- 404 M,
    Zambia- 331 M,
    Kazakhstan- 304 M,
    Iraq- 1.08 B,
    Tanzania- 554 M,
    with literally Billions
    and they still
    hate us!!!

    Our retired seniors
    living on a 'fixed income'
do they get any breaks while our government
and religious organisations pour Hundreds of Billions
    and Tons of Food
    to Foreign Countries!

We have hundreds of adoptable children who
    are shoved aside
    to make room for
    the adoption of
    foreign orphans.

    AUSTRALIA, UK & US
    countries where we have
homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without needed medication and mentally ill without treatment... etc.

    YET. .. .

We still allow illegal "Deprived People"
& other free loaders on our shores

While we are lining up with food, clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.

    Imagine if
    the "GOVERNMENT"
gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.

    Sad isn't it?

When we are faced with the facts in black and white like that it sure does seem that our governments of the past have never seemed to be able to get their spending priorities right.

While I too am a "charity begins at home" supporter, I do still feel that we can do a little to support people, especially innocent children, who are starving and sick because THEIR governments are useless.

I guess that so long as we prioritise that our own needy are financed first we can still then spend some money on international aid too.

Also, if ILLEGAL immigrants - as opposed to legal - if too many, immigrants are adding to our welfare budget then the government and the border-control agencies need to screw down harder than they do on these illegals, and quickly get them deported.

What is at the core of this is the fact that our government agencies have NO clue about how many illegals there are in Britain at the moment. That would be a good place to start.

I saw an interesting piece of information in my daily paper this morning that said that, while we have gathered - in donations - from the British people and sent 50 million to The Philippines, America has sent 30 million and China sent 1.1 million, it seems as if something is very wrong with this picture.

    Don't you agree ?

Yeah Paps, it is all about who needs it most.

First, they should give this money to the Brits who need it like the pensioners and the people who are forced to go to the food-banks, then they should give it to our NHS instead of trying to flog as much of it off to their business pals as they can get away with.

Then they should give it to our education and further education sectors so that our poor results can be grow up to something like the levels in the far east.

I honestly don't think that the Tories have any idea what the meaning of the word "priorities" means as they have their priorities all wrong.

Hi again Technician. It's fun to chase you round Paps's board.

We are going to see Osborne's "priorities" today when he gives out his autumn spending budget.

It is still far enough away from the general election for him to get away with murder.

I wonder who he is going to hit next ?

If they get their way we are going to have to survive to seventy before we can get a rest and get our state pension.

It would not be so bad if the state pension was worth waiting for, but it is not. On it's own it drives the country's pensioners into abject poverty.

Osborne is just playing with the energy companies too as he promises a pound a week off our energy bills.

Who does he think he is kidding ?

    Pensions

Post by Technician on Fri 06 Dec 2013, 12:49 pm

    Hi all,

Here are some facts from the 'This is Money' website article on UK pensions:

The UK has the second-worst state pension system in the developed world, with only Mexico providing a less generous retirement income, a study has found.

A damning report by the Organisation for Economic Development and Co-operation found that average earners in the UK will retire with a state pension worth just 32.6 per cent of their working income.

Only Mexicans, with 28.5 per cent, are worse off, with the Dutch topping the table of the 34 OECD members with a replacement income rate of an impressive 90.7 per cent.

The current basic state pension is worth 110.15-a-week to pensioners with full working records, which can rise with the second state pension. In 2016, the new flat-rate state pension is expected to be worth 155-a-week.

When private pensions are taken into account, average earners have a replacement income of 67.1 per cent, which is just below the OECD average of 67.9 per cent.

The Government's future 2016 State pensions policy is inadequate and will be two tier. Today's pensioners will continue to receive a meagre State pension and means tested handouts, only future pensioners will receive a 144 a week State pension based on contributions made, and means testing will be abolished.

So the UK's existing 12 million pensioners will continue to be more worse off than their EU counterparts whose State pensions are much higher. Im sure that a lot of elderly people believe they will be getting this full Universal State pension come April 2016. But they wont. This only applies to new pensioners from 2016.

Look at the State pension comparison 2013 below

Max State Avg% of pension age

Country Pension Pay Avg Men & Woman.
    Spain 26,630 23,491 113% 65 65
    Germany 26,366 29,366 90% 65 65
    France 15,811 29,817 53% 60 60
    Nlands 10,981 35,627 31% 65 65
    Denmark 11,381 45,661 25% 65 65
    Ireland 10,415 41,803 25% 65 65
    UK 7,488 31,413 24% 65 62
    Greece 3,756 17,772 21% 65 65

    Typical of this country !!

Thanks for all your hard work getting those facts to put before us Technician.

I have always suspected that our state pension as part of our GDP was one of the worst in the world and it is good to actually see it in black and white.

I honestly cannot image that Cameron and his mob do not know about this and if they do they should be totally ashamed of themselves.

OK, I do know that most of the good state pensions in the EU are pro-rata with the high direct taxation that is taken in those countries and that because our government will say that we are "a LOW direct taxation country we should expect less to come as way of welfare spending", I still think that if priorities were properly applies our state pension would need to go up by around twenty percent if it was laid against our, ( the pensioners ), share of the country's taxation, based on our GDP.

The Tories always say that we can only afford the state pension level that equates with the share of the total tax-take that they feel is "fair", but as I do not think that the Tories seem to have any clue about what "fair" means, their stance is not only wrong but it is also deliberate lies.
