    Credit Cards

Post by hughh on Sat 07 Sep 2013, 5:28 pm

When purchasing anything over 20 it is very wise to use a credit card which will help you get your money back should you have to return a product. Just wish I had took this advice a few months back. Not going to name this company at this point in time but working hard to get an 182 refund. Can't even return the product because this firm as already lost it. Story so far bought an electric golf trolley but the motor failed after a short while, after contacting them they collected it for repair. 16 days later a very used golf trolley was returned in place of my new one. After I informed them of the error they had the cheek to tell me this was my own trolley. Looked it over and sure the speed control knob was hanging lose so it got returned with letter demanding a full refund.
I have also gave details of my problem to the Consumers complaints people at the town hall.

Let you know how I get on in a future post.

Excellent posting Hughh, and great to see that you have done all the right things in order to get reparations from this firm.

Do not give up until you are satisfied with the final response, as firms like these depend on us losing heart and interest after often meeting a brick wall of resistance in such disputes.

Best of British luck to you !

All correspondence with them by email which I have kept safe. I ensured I quoted my age and told them several times I am losing 15 a week in golf club membership while the trolley out of action. To think the trolley was collected on Tuesday and they hadn't received it by Friday morning.

That's another trick of the fly-guys out their Hughh: They try to delay every communication and every postal receipt so that the people who are chasing them up will lose interest and let them off the hook.

I don't think, knowing you, that that is what you are going to do.

I am already in correspondence with citizens advice service who have given me plenty of legal advice and a number to quote each time I get in touch with them.

    Good for you Hughh.

I only wish more people would do as you are doing, as if they did very fewer consumers would then get ripped off.

I hope that ROB has helped in some small way towards you doing this.

Sorry Papa cannot give you any credit, I am like every one on here just plain stubborn and won't allow any one to rip me off. The company it self as now gone into ignore mode but that won't do them any good. Carry on this way and they will get some very bad publicity. All correspondence by email I have had with them will be placed on one document and past to the small claims court and a few other places. Won't miss the chance to state they are ripping off a poor 73 year old pensioner. LOL

This email came out of the blue and really surprised me

    Hi,
I am very sorry for the delay, I can confirm that the refund has been passed to the accounts team for processing and will be done within the next 48 hours

    Kind regards

    Julie

My mentioning citizens advice service must have done the trick Papa

    Great news Hughh.

That's what I mean about keeping at them, as eventually you will be more bother than you are worth to them and they will knuckle-under.

When you said: "I am like every one on here", I am afraid that you are NOT like "everyone on here" as many of the people who come here for help have no clue about how to go about doing what you did naturally.

It is for that reason that I spend so much of my free time keeping this website going.

My next planned move was going to be to create a document with all my email correspondence along bad reports from other customers of theirs, One person had to wait for ten weeks to get a refund. The first copy would have been to them by recorded delivery.

    That's also a good idea.

You certainly seem to be very well organised in the fight against being ripped off.

I wish many more of the Robsters were like you !

You are a great example to all who visit and read ROB who want to be treated fairly by the chancers out there.

Yes Hughh, this is a perfect example of one hand not knowing what the other hand is doing.

It looks as if the customer relations department don't talk to the marketing department.

I am not surprised at this because I have seen this happening many times before with different companies.
